Alice McAllister Tillman
with Maurice Draughn, pianist/harpist
Ms. Tillman is a winner of the Detroit Tuesday Musicale, an organization dedicated to live performances by artists of caliber. Known for her ability to perform a diverse range of literature spanning many genres, she has been presented in solo recitals that include Art Songs, Operatic Arias, Spirituals, Musical Theater and Jazz. She is frequently engaged in Oratorio and Symphonic presentations. Tillman performed
Schubert’s Ave Maria at Aretha Franklin’s funeral service. She is a long-standing member and now Artistic Director of the award-winning Brazeal Dennard Chorale. She loves teaching K-post-graduate students.
Maurice Draughn is a native of Detroit. He earned a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Harp Performance from Wayne State University. Mr. Draughn has appeared as soloist with several symphonies and has performed with Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Robert Sims, the Three Irish Tenors, and Glen Campbell. He is also an arranger and composer of music for the harp, voice and choir.
This concert will be given in honor of Joan and Ted Lettvin, co-founders of Great Lakes PAA (Performing Artist Associates).
